Role of Disorder in a Bi-Dimensional Lubricated Sliding Model

چکیده
We investigate the role of defects and disorder in a 2D-model lubricant interposed between two sliding substrates. Specifically, we consider localized defects (vacancies) and extended defects (grain boundaries) in the lubricant confined between two perfect rigid chains. This work verifies in particular when the perfect ”quantized” dynamical sliding regime identified in previous work [1, 2] is present even in the presence of defects. The main finding is that provided twofold: (i) if the boundary layer of the lubricant in contact with the closer-in-register substrate does not hold defects in the asymmettric stationary state, the perfectly quantized velocity regime is recovered fairly easily, (ii) diffusion favors the spontaneous formation of a perfect boundary lubricant layer at the interface with the closer in register substrate. Optimum sliding mode controller design based on skyhook model for nonlinear vehicle vibration model
In this paper a new type of multi-objective differential evolution employing dynamically tunable mutation factor is used to optimally design non-linear vehicle model. In this way, non-dominated sorting algorithm with crowding distance criterion are combined to fuziified mutation differential evolution to construct multi-objective algorithm to solve the problem. In order to achieve fuzzified mut...
متن کاملAn analytical model of dynamic sliding friction during impact
Dynamic sliding friction was studied based on the angular velocity of a golf ball during an oblique impact. This study used the analytical model proposed for the dynamic sliding friction on lubricated and non-lubricated inclines. The contact area A and sliding velocity u of the ball during impact were used to describe the dynamic friction force Fd = λAu, where λ is a parameter related to the we...

The friction and wear properties of polyamide 66 (PA66), polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) sliding against hemselves under dry sliding and oil-lubricated conditions were studied by using a pin-on-disc tribometer. The effect of applied load and sliding peed on tribological behaviors of the polymer–polymer sliding combinations under dry sliding and oil-lubricated cond...

In this paper, the researchers have proposed a multi-dimensional knapsack model for project capital budgeting problem in uncertain situation which has been modeled through fuzzy sets. The optimistic and pessimistic situations were considered and associated deterministic models were yielded. Numerical example has been supplied toillustrate the performance of proposed model. The results were prom...

The friction and wear performance of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene(UHMWPE) and pure poly-ether-etherketone(PEEK) polymers were comparatively evaluated under dry sliding and cacao drops lubrication. The sliding experiments were carried out on a pin-on-disc tribometer. The contact configuration used was a polymer pin on a rotating stainless steel disc. Wear tests were carried out at ro...
